Our Favorite Environmental Site Doing Their Part

On this tiny planet, we and our predecessors have been consuming and polluting ever since cave men started throwing bones in a pile out behind the privy. Well that is changing now thanks to organizations like the Sierra Club, and Oceana. We have also discovered a website where others are working to do their part and are creating awareness in the green movement.

An Example of Friends Helping Friends

For instance, the Blog called LinkMoney dot org recently posted instructions on how to create the HTML code necessary to leave a keyword link to a website.

Normally if you post a comment with a url typed out in it, then when the comment gets posted WordPress will convert that to a link, but there will be no keyword strengthening to the link, just a link to your website url.

In the example on LinkMoney the code can be written this way:

<a href=”http://linkmoney.org”>Link Money</a> Link Money

That way any time someone clicks on that link you get a vote in the search engine ranks for those keywords.

So this is one way that we can say this site is made for Friends Helping Friends.

About the Theme Selected for Enhanced Contact

We selected a minimalistic magazine type theme called Simply Lightweight 1.0 by Net Strife.

We are open to suggestions here.  This is a free theme and it is sort of bland, but of course it is meant to be.  If you want to make some suggestions for a better theme to use, that would be great.

Let’s discuss it.

This website uses WordPress 2.6.X.

We also have plugins for:

Automatic Upgrade (Easy clicks to follow new version upgrades, sort of semi-automatic.)

Automatic Backup (Configured to Backup the complete site database on a regular schedule and email it to the admin.)

Sitemap Generator (Search engines love sitemaps.)

CommentLUV (Lists the commenter’s latest post from their website)

Sociable (Puts a row of social networking site icons at the bottom of each post to allow readers to easily vote for the post.)

All-in-One-SEO-Pack (Generates notices to several search engines when ever new material is posted or any changes are made to the Blog.)

(Would normally load Plugin Central but it apparently is not yet compatible with the newest version of wordPress.)

As the website title bar says, You will Benefit by Subscribing to Enhanced Contact (dot com.)

What we do is similar to some of the paid subscription Blog Mastermind programs, the only difference is that at Enhanced Contact (dot com) everything is FREE !

You will gain information from others that have learned the ropes of all the little details needed to build a Super Blog.

We keep it simple here and most of all FRIENDLY ! No one will look down on you for asking the newbie question. After all we were all newbies at one time. Also remember that there is no such thing as a Dumb Question, (although those are the easiest to answer.) \grin/ That is a joke, we try not to get too serious around here.

What we are hoping for with the Friends Helping Friends theme is that when you learn something of value from this group, please pass it on, and also tell people where you learned it from for FREE !

Tell your friends about this website and encourage them to join the group discussion.

Most of the discussion here will be in regard to using the WordPress Blogging program. We will continue to use this blog format for now, and if it becomes obvious that it would be better to use some Forum software, well then we can always convert later.

Ask questions, try to help with answers and let this become known as the “Friends Helping Friends” website.
