The hottest trend in genealogy research right now is DNA testing.  This field of research was emphasized recently by the  TV series, “Who Do You Think You are?”

The popularity of this TV show created many new genealogists as they became interested in the celebrities stories of how they researched their ancestors.  You will be able to jump start your genealogy research by taking a DNA test.

Instead of going to a DNA testing laboratory, people are now increasingly opting for DNA home test kits in order to test for your DNA strain.

DNA tests are performed for a variety of medical reasons, such as, ascertaining the paternity of an individual, checking the gender of an unborn child, and obtaining genetic strains that help in the treatment of various diseases.

But apart from all of these primary uses of DNA testing, it is most commonly used for genealogical testing.

At times, Genealogy DNA testing is required to establish the inheritance of wealth and estate. In such cases, courts mainly allow DNA testing performed at accredited DNA testing labs.
